Based near to Fareham in Segensworth, this Applications Engineer role offers the perfect blend of customer interaction, technical design, and problem-solving. All projects are different, you'll always be learning and essentially working on exceptionally high value low volume projects. You'll work closely with customers to provide innovative and reliable solutions, producing technical content for proposals while minimising technical and commercial risks.
You'll further develop your technical and commercial skills while influencing the future of nuclear engineering solutions. This role is technically bias, providing an opportunity to develop commercial skills, so long as you have that natural desire to be interactive with customers and learn the commercial side of bringing business into manufacturing.
What will I be doing?
- Woking on multiple enquiries, reviewing these inquiries and providing feasibility assessments and design concepts.
- Preparing technical and commercial proposals, including product specifications and detailed costing models.
- Collaborating across departments to ensure manufacturability and efficiency of proposals.
- Travelling to customer sites, exhibitions, and conferences as required several times a year (occasionally into Europe).
- Using CAD to produce detailed technical drawings and validation plans.
What do I need?
- A degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical role.
- A desire to use your natural commercial acumen.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
